Intel Will No Longer Be Supporting PCI.

Intel Will No Longer Be Supporting PCI.

Starting next year, with H77, Z75, and the Z77 chipsets, Intel will no longer include a PCI controller on their chipsets. After 20 years of service the end of PCI is coming of age.

I wish I had a link for the article I was reading. Can't seem to find it. If anyone else finds the link please post it. Thanks.

I am sure that this has to do with the fact the PCIE gen 3 is coming out soon. After all it makes sense, adopt new technology, drop old technology -----> more push for innovation.

Asus has commented that they will have a very limited models that will have these new chips with PCI on another controler. How well it will work I do not know. I reminds me of when my old 775 MB had the IDE and Esata on the same contoler which cause all kinds of issues.

After my next build I guess I will need to replace my Linksys PCI wireless N card. When I bought it it was the best card on the market. So who makes the best Wireless N pcie card?
