Tough Times for Win 8 and MS

On top of fines and taxes, Microsoft got bad news on Windows RT, Windows 8, and Office 2013

...Demand for Windows 8 is also failing to meet expectations...

Microsoft...is looking like "a tired technology corporation scrambling to protect its cash cows on the legacy PC desktop and failing to gain traction in the new markets of note...

Microsoft vs. the world: The punches keep coming | Microsoft windows - InfoWorld

Let's hope they get it right with Blue and it turns around for them.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to brush up on my Linux and hope Apple brings out a $499 MacBook Pro. I wonder how easy it is to build one of those MacIntosh thingies.

Looks like the Windows people are winning.

A little easier than a Surface PRO but not much.

Is that a picture of you Bill?

I ask because the title suggests it.

This is not what Microsoft needs.

You are not helping.

You need to accept it is not everybody else who is to blame.

MS have not got it right.

They can change it - bit more difficult now perhaps, but it can be done, and I think they know how.

I am looking forward to it.

Yeah that's me when I still had my looks.

I'm starting to think you're right, okay I hate the MPI and lack of a Start Menu, I hate the hot corners, I hate the charms bar, I hate the one click onto the desktop, I hate the lock screen, I hate the tiles, I hate the Store, I hate the Surface RT and I think I even hate the Surface Pro.

Actually I even hate that it's more secure and boots faster and that file transfers are faster.

Its just a Windows 7 world or maybe even an XP world or maybe an Apple or Google world.

Go ahead tell us all about it, try not to be too positive.
I might not know English but I know people, that's why I made the above sarcastic comment, I knew what you would do..

And hey, who cares, Ray8  would have been a lot harsher in his criticism.:dinesh:

I don't have a Pro - but I think that may be one thing they have done reasonably well.

It's not enough. They are missing huge chunks.

Oh boy....

I have to point out generational gap here or something, as I posted on your Surface thread how I was able to type real swiftly and accurately with the touchscreen keyboard as well as the touch cover. The touch cover will need some getting used to though.

Hmmm, I think I might go back to the local amazon showroom and type up a response with the touch keyboard like you did and the touch cover to demonstrate what I mean.

Something wrong there Mr Parks, one of the biggest Apple Fanboys used a Pro for a week and he said it was a joy to type on, and he's a journalist. Quite a few bloggers have claimed it was very good to type on, I haven't seen too many people rubbishing it for that.

The following is a review by Scott Stein on the typing ability of the Surface Pro, Scott Stein is a well know Apple Fan.
. Type Cover, Touch Cover: Killer accessories, neither included
Nearly this entire review has been written on the Surface Pro, using a combination of Type and Touch covers. The $130 Type Cover has an actual keyboard with depressible keys, whereas the $120 Touch Cover is a membrane keyboard. They both weigh about half a pound, and double as screen covers for the Surface.
If Scott could say something bad about the Pro, I guarantee he would.

It was a very long review, this is just a small excerpt.

See those words, KILLER Accessories, that would have been tough for him to admit.

I kind of have to agree too with that. I honestly thought touch typing on the Surface would be sucky but better than the ipad or android, but I found it to be lots better than either. It was just fine. I was like Data from Star Trek.

I like to deal in facts, when an Apple Fanboy says something is a killer accessory, it's a killer accessory. Others have said much the same.

I kind of wonder if the touch covers can be done without and just use the touchscreen keyboard....
