Windows 8 Recycle Bin Warnings Off by Default for Deleted Files

In its default configuration, Windows 8 will no longer display a Recycle Bin warning to users when they delete a file.

The behavior change is part of a larger series of modifications that sum up to push file management in the upcoming iteration of Windows to the next level.

Users currently get asked whether theyre sure that they want to send a file to the Recycle Bin whenever a file is deleted, with the exception of scenarios when the Shift + Delete key combination is used.

So where can I turn the warning back on? I just double clutched on a delete and took out something I did not want to delete. I know I can retrieve it, but don't want that to be the default for me.

Because of the way I use emails and files on my computer, I do a LOT of deleting. I'd rather be sure I didn't delete the wrong email/file/folder than to be paranoid about what's in the Recycle Bin.

OOps - found it. Right click the trash can, and there's a choice there.

That warning is one of the first things I turn off. The deleted files are still in the recycle bin so its no big deal for me to recover one if I accidentally delete it. I find the delete confirmation a nuisance.

I understand it didn't suit your needs, and I'm glad it's easily enabled/disabled. Just wish I'd thought to right click there some time ago. To each his own.

My comment wasn't directed at you per say, it was just my spin on it. Like you say to each his own. At least the option is there for those that want it.
