Microsoft launches updated Office 365 for business users

In late January 2013, Microsoft launched its consumer-focused version of Office 2013, known as Office 365 Home Premium. On February 27, the company launched the updated business versions of its Microsoft-hosted Office 365 offerings.

Microsoft has added three new packages to its Office 365 line-up for businesses: Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 Midsize and Office 365 Small Business Premium. These complement the existing Office 365 Small Business and Enterprise offerings, which Microsoft is updating with many of the latest new features and functions that it introduced late last year for the on-premises complements of the products in the suite. Hi there
I don't think we're going to use this one at work for some time -- if ever.

What about users who take home work and want to work on their documents OFFLINE on their own private laptops that probably won't have a subscription for Office 365 -- especially external consultants --this makes the whole licensing issue an absolute NIGHTMARE.

I think this business model has passed its sell by date before its even got off the ground -- I can see as per the above case this as being a TOTALLY BOVINE way of a business to run its I.T - especially if it employs a load of external consultants.

Don't also forget that lots of these consultants may be working on several projects at different sites / different companies at the same time. Even if company A gets a "global subscription" which includes external consultants -- this doesn't mean that company B has the same subscription or even the same features as company A who might not license external consultants for office 365 to be used on anything other than company laptops which would be restricted to their employees only.

Cheers
