Nemo cancels Microsoft's Surface Pro launch

Microsoft’s super-select, invitation-only Surface Pro launch event in New York has been cancelled thanks to a big fish. The general manager of Microsoft’s Surface team Panos Pany tweeted that he wouldn’t be able to attend the event at Best Buy in Times Square because of blizzard warnings hanging over the New York City area.

Microsoft subsequently told press the event had been cancelled due to the weather.

Rest of the story here:

That makes sense. Only snowmen would have been able to attend.

Hi there
No probs -- Manchester Utd football team (Proper Football where you actually have to KICK the ball) playing Everton - another team from the Liverpool area in the U.K is of a lot more interest to people around the world than yet another boring marketing presentation using a load of suits (who these days even wears that type of clobber anymore unless they are a 100% wage slave) presenting a device that "You can't possibly do without".

Marketing for the whole Surface Pro has been a 100% DISASTER - anybody could have done better -- and I'm not even starting on the qualities (or lack of) that the device has. (Actually it's not a bad device but the Marketing has been so bad that even the word amateur can't convey the ridiculous strategy Ms has used for pushing sales of it).

The surface pro has quite a lot going for it - but please get these marketing imbeciles out of the loop --I doubt if these people could organise a prayer meeting in the Vatican or even the proverbial "Booze up in a Brewery".

Cheers
jimbo
