Windows 8 to Come Under the Spotlight as Next Gen Technologies Are Unveiled at Comput

hile Microsoft feeds the world only crumbs from its Windows 8 feast, the public is bound to get a taste of Windows vNext from the company’s partners at Computex, Taipei.

Intel, AMD, Nvidia and ARM will all have a strong presence at the conference this week, and all have been working with the Redmond company to develop its next major version of Windows.

Intel executives have already made public a range of details related to Windows 8, information that Microsoft later denied, calling it “factually inaccurate and unfortunately misleading.”

According to DigiTimes, Intel executive vice president and Architecture Group general manager Sean Maloney is in Taipei, and will discuss the CPU giant’s strategy around Tablet PCs.

Of course, it’s quite hard to imagine that Intel will talk tablets without also mentioning the next iteration of Windows. The processor giant is apparently scheduled to showcase Oak Trail Tablet PCs, designed to play nice with MeeGo and Android in addition to Windows.

AMD is also expected to offer details of its own Tablet PC architectures, and yet again, Windows 8 will come into play.

Just as it is the case with Intel, AMD also worked closely with Microsoft in order to make sure that the successor of Windows 7 will play nice with its next gen architectures.
