You could move to Lafayette, LA they offer a Gibit fiber connection both ways and get faster transfer speeds than your HDD. A bit pricey $1000.00 per month.
Hi there
Even after a tax rise or two we've had here that costs MORE than my Mortgage and car payments combined by quite a margin.
(We just let some of our big banks go bust -- short term pain but at least the country is coming out of recession with a 3 - 3.5% growth rate and almost zero debt as a % of GDP. -- Other countries should have done the same rather than feeding the Banks absolutely TRILLIONS of dollars. Iceland of course is a small economy - but you could have let a few Banks go bust -- then gov't had more money over to kick start the economy again).
Will stick to what I've got for the moment. I don't have too many issues with USB3. I'm sure at the appropriate time I'll get USB 974 or whatever it's called by then with a 2 PB /sec data transfer rate ( 2 * 1000 TB) on to my 2 mm super micro SD card which has a capacity of 1 EB (1000 * 1PB = 1000 * 1000 TB !!).
Seriously there really is always an eventual need for faster data transfer rates. - These days we think nothing of even watching HD movies direct from the Internet without even downloading first.
Even a couple of years ago this would have been impossible -- re-buffering etc -- and who on this Forum remember the old dial up connections usinh Hayes Modems with what we thought at the time was a really fast speed of 2400 Baud. !!!
For the youngsters here who never experienced those days

I even used an acoustic coupler -- this is where you just put the telephone handset into two rubber cups on a modem and hey presto you got a connection (although even slower -- 300 - 1200 Baud !!).
Here are some images.
Those were the days !!!!
