Win7China: No leaks until Windows 8 Beta

Just after releasing an article about the Avast CTO being carefree in his interview, Win7China has struck us with some more disappointing news. Initially, Avast CTO Ond?ej Vl?ek had said that they had not received any Windows 8 code yet, however, arrangements were being made for them to receive an early compilation of Windows 8 in the spring.

Immediately following, a new report was issued suggesting that we will not be able to get our hands on anything until Windows 8 Beta. This is because Microsoft is following an entirely different and much stricter procedure dealing with the distribution of Windows 8, which includes the following:

A form of identity code is attached to every Windows 8 build (known by the public as time-bomb, or a changing security hash unique to the user)
Windows 8 can only be accessed by a specific account of the individual user. Futhermore, access is only granted when used in conjunction with a SmartCard. (A SmartCard is similar to the chips found in today’s credit cards)

I don't think the smart card idea is so genuine, what would happen to people whose laptops do not a Smart Card reader/writer?

I assume that they would implement a way to better use of a TPM. Or even better for SSDs the installer could "burn" hard-coded security hash that would be un-erasable.

As long as I get to see screenshots of it developing-- I'm content.

Well now if this holds true one would have reason to believe that no leaks at all will be coming. The Beta per say is not a leak. The builds after the beta will be protected by the time bombs so no build leaks. Oh what fun was had back in the spring and summer of 09. If you was there you know what I am saying.

they should just let us get more leaks. I mean the leaks we have had so far aren't exactly all that exciting (not to me at the very least) and it's nice if they are holding back because there will be a huge overhaul to the user interface but if it's just going to be flattened version of the same user interface of windows 7 then I'm not really all that excited. I was happy to see the more flattened look but then overall the interface still looks the same I thought they incorporated some windows phone 7 elements to make it more interesting or user-friendly, but that hasn't happened...yet but hopefully will soon.
If they make something like the zune/windows phone 7 for the tablet I'll be excited to see that however.
One thing that's been bugging me is that it's not that microsoft doesn't have great ideas like the microsoft courier which I was extremely excited about. It's just that they give up so easily like Zune(which I really was going to save up money on the side for but they haven't had a new device) or just don't execute it like Courier.
