I doubt we'll see the beta until early/mid 2011, to be honest. From everything I've seen about Windows 8 so far, it appears to be a fairly large undertaking. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you, but you never know what can happen! Either way, I'm sure the leaks will come long before the beta.

Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition
naturally MS stated long ago they will begin releasing new versions of the OS every 2-3 years. the life span xp had continues to cause problems for MS and an OS at that age can be a nightmare to keep up to date and secure.

I skipped Vista, but research has revealed that after Vista SP1, SP2 is not capable of being "slipstreamed" into an install DVD. This is a real pain (just add more to the Vista experience) because it means every time Vista is reinstalled or repaired the SP2 will also have to be installed. I have been "slipstreaming" service packs into install disks since 2000. I am dumbfounded by this move. Hopefully, the early testing of this feature in 7 will bring back slipstreaming?
