Sticking with 7 too. Windows 8 just isn't for me.

Yes, it's been asked for every OS released. The extent may vary but, the question is always asked.

I don't get why everyone hates Win8. I think it's neat. It still has the desktop view which is a lot like 7. The metro UI only makes it faster to get to an app or program. It's cool how they are live and update throughout the day.

7 works for me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I have concerns about hardware ("legacy" video card) and games (from Steam) running on Win8. I don't like the interface: contrary to a number of folks, I use the Start menu often and I really like Aero.

My standard answer to folks who inquire about a new OS: "if what you have now works, stay with it."

Well, do we need a lot of the things in our lives? No, and Windows 8 is no exception. Now, do we want? Yes.

Windows 7 Ult Reatil & Win 8 Pro OEM

I don't need W8! Vista Ult & Win7 Ult both work fine. But wil probably buy Pro OEM Builder version on disk. Why? I'm not totally sure myself! Probably because I have to have the latest; to keep my 'anthology' of MS disks intact; and something new to play with. Plus the OS kernel does have improvements and it's faster.

It's going on my backup machine as a single installation. I already have the Enterprise version on that machine. But won't use it for flag ship until at least 6 months to give time for all the bugs to iron out.

There is no way I would have even given it a 2nd look if a hack wasn't available to restore W7 Start Menu, and totally deactivate Metro. And Ex7ForW8 hack does this to perfection. You do need the W7 installation disk to make it work, as it uses files to install Explorer 7, but that's not a big deal as my W7 is retail.
