Hi there
Virtual Iso mounter works just fine on Netbook / ultra book with no physical DVD device.

Computer with physical DVD device -- no DVD in the device of course - - message "Problem mounting xxxx.iso" where xxxx is name of the iso.

However the ISO is ACTUALLY mounted and can be read from -- no problem. Just the message is issued incorrectly.

OS - Windows 8 x-64 RTM TechNet, Laptop Sony VAIO.

Cheers
jimbo

Hi there
just double click on an .ISO file in Windows explorer (Sorry -- now called "File Explorer") or right mouse click on the file name and choose MOUNT.
Very useful facility actually in W8.

@ Mods

This shouldn't be in the "Virtualisation" section as this is now a CORE feature of standard W8 -- I'm not referring to a Virtual machine here.

From Windows Explorer / File Explorer here's what you get now with an .ISO file in STANDARD windows 8 (not a VM) when you Right mouse click on the .iso file name.

That could be it.

Go to default programs and set windows explorer as default for .iso files.

You're welcome - glad it's working for you.

If you rt click an .iso you might find nero is an option under "open with".

Thanx Jimbo!

Racking my head on how to boot from ISO.
