Yes I believe it is 159 (8gb) and 199 (16gb) in the UK.

If you look at the video - they are upfront about what it is.

It is for consuming content from google.

No idea - I have never used Android for anything.
I don't have a test machine only VM's here, but it is possible to install to HD: it's x86.

But it remains the same, VM or not, you need the patches in my last post to enable ARM support (if you use Google Play and install extra apps).

And graphics support still remains a mistery: good drivers for Android on a desktop?
Or you better install on a acer laptop or eeepc (as the iso's say).

I'm trying a version of Android (android ICS) with some mouse support under VMware -- so far this beats Windows 8 hands down for THIS type of OS -- note looking at android as a phone / tablet OS not as a desktop system.

I'll see if I can get some screenshots when I've installed and got it working.

link for iso for anybody interested

    Hi Hopachi,

I think I'm going to park this one for a while. I have an SSD to install on this machine (no Windows 8!) and I have a Raspberry Pi to try to turn into a Media Server....

Android 4.0 looks quite fun though!

    Regards

    Angry Birds works!

In the latest test I'm using buildroid 4.0.4 (Android ICS in a VM) in VBox.

    -there is sound
    -there is network connection
-there is ARM support (to install apps)

On linux there is also openGL support for graphics acceleration but since I'm on Windows, Angry Birds runs slow.
Maybe they'll add Windows support soon but for the moment you get more FPS in VMware on Windows (but no sound yet in the VMware Android VM)

    Screenshots:

Note the VM name: this version works best in VM:

I've put my own apps in the Download folder and installed from here. Didn't wanna mess with the app store but that should also work.
If not, this is how to install apps.

Angry Birds and DosBox were successfully installed:

    Angry Birds Space:

DosBox: no DOS program worked yet, but only two were tested.

In the x86 official ISO's (eeepc and asus laptop ...) there is no ARM support by default, so this buildroid includes all.

    That's it.
