From what I know, hyper-v uses and locks-out VT-x/AMD-V virtualization but the emulator needs that feature too.

I might be wrong though for the latest version(s). This was true for Visual Studio 2010 phone emulator.

hi guys, I have a bit different problem with VT-X but with Android SDK Emulator,
i need to install Intel(R) Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM)
with Intel(R) Virtualization Technology (VT) for faster Android* Emulation Version 1.0.7

but I am getting this error in my windows 8.1

even my Asus P8B75-V with i5-3450 supports VT-x technology (and it's enabled in BIOS)

i tried with Advanced Startup > Restart>troubleshoot>Advanced options
And i look for "UEFI firmware settings", but i can´t find.

Good news. I use sometimes virtualbox and sometimes hyper-v so have that set-up. It is quicker to reboot and pick one option or the other than use the add/remove features certainly.
