Booting current install in a VM

I am looking into setting up a type 1, native hypervisor on my desktop (Xen, specifically). Would it be possible for me to load my current install into a VM? The hypervisor can be run from a live disk.

Sure. You can use this Disk2vhd to covert your existing installation to VHD.

Ideally create the VHD not on the same physical drive when you run this utility - you can but it takes a long time. Converting my 100GB C: drive to VHD on an external drive took about an hour.

You'll have to re-activate as Windows will think your hardware has changed.
