you can create an ISO from a CD or DVD with a tool, and mount the ISO but just in case; many protected software and games will not work this way

Hi there
Windows 8 mounts an ISO file image -- no prob --just RIGHT mouse click on the ISO image (Context menu) and choose either MOUNT or open with File explorer (used to be called Windows Explorer).

sometimes just double clicking on the iso image will mount it automatically as well although not 100% guaranteed.

Don't waste your money on these 3rd party applications -- not needed anymore in Windows 8.

Cheers

Try from a virtual BD ROM: Virtual CloneDrive Free Download virtual CloneDrive&utm_content=javi Virtual CloneDrive

Hi there
you don't need this type of software in W8.

From the ISO just right mouse click in windows (now called file) explorer and chose mount.
then just run the program from the "Mounted" image.

You might have to use a program like AnyDVD to create an identical ISO image of a DVD movie or a game.

What is there too much text?
That was already mentioned it the tutorial link from (area66's) second post. The thing here is that IT DIDN'T worked.
Of course:
many protected software and games will not work this way

You've all provided some extra links, but it seems that it still doesn't work. :(

At least that makes it easier for us.:)
it's possible that the op's issue must be related to an older release, on DVD.
