Administrator questions

I've had Windows8 for a few weeks now but it is still causing me frequent grief. Can anybody advise me please:

I have administrator rights and I have created the second user for my partner. The system has created a default name of franc.ooo

I want to rename it Frances

I get a message saying I need to provide administrator permission

I hit the continue button

And I get the action cannot be completed because the file or folder is open

I have done this from a restart so nothing is open and the only action I have taken is to open Windows Explorer to see the folder structure and select the name I want to rename so there nothing open.

Any idea how I can rename the user

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8.1
    Computer type
    PC/Desktop
    System Manufacturer/Model

    Memory

Renaming at this point may not work. Best to start a brand new account with the name you really want. I tried the renaming, the account name did not change, only the "faceplate" changed.
