Windows 8.1 Sync Settings

Hello all,

This might not be the right place for this particular question, but here goes. I currently have 1 Windows 8.1 PC that I use for
gaming. I'm looking into getting another PC strictly for work so that I can reserve hard drive space, etc. My question is this: In 8.1, there's some sync settings under PC settings in the OneDrive section. They say things like "sync apps that I have downloaded," or "sync background image," etc. So, if I get a new PC and log in with my current Windows account credentials, will I be looking at a mirrored image of my current PC if I turn the sync settings on for my new computer, or how exactly does that process/those settings work?

Sync Settings lets you sync these settings so that they will be automatically set the same and have all of your modern apps automatically installed across all trusted PCs that you sign in to with the same Microsoft account. Nothing else changes.

Thanks for the quick response! So would it affect any of the other settings on the computer such as my background image, or even things like how I get updates, etc? I guess what I'm asking is how much of the new computer would be similar to the old computer if I chose to have all of the options on for both machines?

It will affect your background images if you have that setting turned on.

It will not affect Windows Updates.

The tutorial link I posted above has some information at the top that'll help let you know what each sync setting affects. If it's not listed, it won't be affected.
