Solved Disable Skype login at laptop start

Hi. My girlfriend setup Skype on her Windows 8 laptop and now every time she starts the laptop it asks for her Microsoft account password and connects online. She wants to work in private and does not want to connect to Microsoft every time the pc starts (if this is what's happening).


How can she change her Windows configuration back so that no login password is required at start up.

It sounds like she switched to using a Microsoft account to sign in to Windows instead of a local account when she setup the Skype app.

Signing into Windows with a Microsoft account would let her use modern apps that use a Microsoft service, and be able to download apps from the Store.

If she would like to keep using a Microsoft account, then she could use the tutorial below to set Windows to automatically sign in to her account at startup.

Thanks for your really fast reply. The forum effect strikes again. We have found out what to do.

In control panel/user accounts she simply disconnected from her Microsoft account then into her local account. After restarting she simply logged into Skype manually. It has remembered her password so job done. Thanks to all here.
