Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum,,but here is my concern. I bought a new dell laptop with 8.1 installed. I originally started this PC sign in process with my Hotmail account password. I do not want to sign in with my microsoft account every time, just to access my computer. I don't even know what my password is,,i use a password manager with 20 digits. I don't want to have to access another device to see what that password is every time i sign onto my laptop.

Ideally, if windows is trying to emulate the touch market as well as pc,,i would want the same login as my tablet and have a pattern password.

Any suggestions?? Thank you

Hello Ronin,

If you like, you could set Windows to automatically sign in to any user account you like at startup.

In addition, you could set to use a PIN or picture password to use to sign in with instead of the usual password.

Hope this helps, :)

Ronin,

I noticed that you said this account is on a Laptop; Be careful with this if you follow the tutorial Brink provided to Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup, as something like this would be extremely vulnerable if another individual gets ahold of it. Picture Password or PIN log-in might be the best options for logging into your laptop PC.
