Solved Moving from one user account to another

I'm not sure if I know all the correct vocabulary for this so bear with me as I try to explain.

One of my user accounts has gone inactive and I'd like to move everything under that account to another account as quickly and painlessly as possible. Long story short, the initial Windows account I set up when I got this laptop was one issued by an ISP that I left a few months back. Eventually, that email address/Windows account went dead. I can no longer use it for email. I can still sign in to that user account on the laptop but I can't install any programs from the Windows store or sign in to my XBox games (Taptiles, Mahjong, and so forth). (I can PLAY the games and they correctly track my score and award me the little medals that you get each month for getting sufficient points but that's all.)

I assume that there's no way to revive or reactivate this account so that I can do installations of new programs again so I'd like to find some way to move/copy the various existing applications so that they open under the other user account I have set up on this laptop, preferably without losing the score histories on the games.

Basically, I've got a double-barrelled problem: I need to be able to install programs from the Windows Store again and I'd like to move my games over to a different user account without losing my scoring history.

Any suggestions how I can do that?

I'm running Windows 8.1.

I *think* many of the questions to which I've answered "not sure" are irrelevant because it is a laptop but if you need to know specifically what model of cooling fans or keyboard or whatever where built in to the laptop, I can try to find that out if you tell me where to look. I don't see this information in the Windows/System display but maybe it is elsewhere. I'm not sure what a "PSU" is: Powe

Thank you, Brink, for this suggestion. This sounds like a very good solution to my problem but I'm having some trouble executing it. I've set up a different email address as my primary alias but whenever I try to sign in to the Windows Store or my games, it shows me the OLD primary alias and asks for the password for that. It fails to authenticate when I supply that old alias's password. What do I do about that? I think I should be seeing the new primary alias. How do I make that happen?

Brink,

It's working now. My problem is that I was impatient. I was expecting the change to take effect in a minute or two but it took a few hours. All is well now though. I am finally able to acquire new apps and also sign in to my Xbox games. My scores and playing history was NOT lost, which is exactly what I wanted.

I can even get rid of the extra user accounts I put on this machine as a workaround to the issue of my old email address going dead.

Thanks for your assistance!
