Deleting Users on Windows 8.1 - How this affects files

Hi all,

I'm wanting to delete a user account on a PC running Windows 8.1. I was just wanting to know whether or not all of the files/photos under this user account will also be deleted along with it? I wish to keep all of the documents and files, I simply want the account deleted. If you could let me know how the process works that would be great

Hi Nellie, welcome to the Eight Forums.

When deleting a user account you can select if you want to keep or delete the files in that user's profile folder. This screenshot is from our sister site the Seven Forums but the window you will get, and the whole deleting procedure is the same in Windows 8:
