Hello Frenchman,

It depends on if the user account is a Microsoft account or local account.

If it's a Microsoft account, then you are out of luck since it's required to have a password, and it cannot be removed. You can change the password to whatever you like though.
If it's a local account, then you could change it's password and leave the password fields empty to remove it and no longer be password protected.
Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

I started going through your sequence as in link, and I went for Local a/c, as I closed MS a/c today.

problem was, it said it was a MS a/c about to be closed, so I assume it does not close at once.

I really am going around the bend on this one, I feel there are too many a/c and password scenarios.

I have already followed the instructions to remove the tick for P/W log on, so in my eyes, cant see why I am sometimes asked.

I cant have any p/w as you cant use one you have used before.

Next window that says it, I will do a p/s and attach.

I also have 2 user accounts but only need one.

In that case, you could just a local account without a password for it, and delete any other user account.

Just know that you will not be able to use any modern apps (ex: OneDrive, Mail) that require a Microsoft account when signed in to Windows with a local account.
