User Profile Service service failed to sign-in

Hello All,

So for the past few hours I have been trying to create an account on my computer and have not been able to log onto it. It doesn't matter if I create a local User, Admin, or use a Microsoft account (Admin or not). I've tried restarting my computer. Tried turning it off and letting it sit for a while. Nothing seems to be working. I also haven't been able to find any information the particular problem that is going on.

I HAVE already found and tried the tutorial located on this site that Brink wrote (http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/38838-user-profile-service-failed-sign-fix-windows-8-a.html) but it does not seem to apply to my situation. There are no registry entries that are associated with any profile I've created (besides my usual account that I'm currently on). In fact, there aren't even folders in the C:\Users directory for any of the accounts I've tried to create (during or after creation and deletion).

It seems to be the same issue dant was having (http://www.eightforums.com/user-accounts-family-safety/28375-user-profile-service-failed-sign.html) but I am not sure since there isn't much on that thread. Anybody have any ideas? I have been searching for hours and my Google-Fu is not finding anything.

Hello Meishe, and welcome to Eight Forums.

When you add/create a new user account, it's user profile is not created until the first time you sign in to it. Since you are unable to sign in to it, this would be why you do not have any registry keys and no "C:\Users\(user-name)" folder for the account yet.

Are you getting this user profile error when you sign in to any other user account on the computer?

For now, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you had this issue may be able to help.

Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn

Ah okay, well that explains why the folder and such aren't there...

And no, I only have one account on it right now and it logs in fine. I created an account a month or so ago and it worked fine but then I deleted that one and went back to only having one. Basically, this one logs in fine. Every one I try to create and log in on fails.

I'll try the system restore, but I don't know if the options I have will go back far enough. I'll edit with details after.

EDIT:
So I did a System Restore back as far as it allowed me to go and it still did the same thing. I created an account, tried to log in, didn't work and was saying the same thing. Tried restarting and trying, still didn't work. Restored back to before I restored and tried again, and to no surprise, it still didn't work. :/
