user accounts and access

just bought a new hp laptop with 8.1 1st time startup, i didnt have a problem with naming the laptop but i don't want to use a password each time i start it and on this forum found how to bypass that, but after installing quicken when i try to open it, it says quicken cannot open the data file because it is read-only or you do not have permission to open it, do you want to copy itto a different location and open it from there, when i instaledl quicken i wanted to reinstall my quicken account files and it asked if i wanted to install then in a folder under my name and i said no and found the quicken folder in the tree and put them there something is wrong, oh yeah i did not create a ms account i just want to turn on the laptop and have access to the programs without all this administrator stuff, HELP ME please

ok i have fixed my quicken issue, i just had to place the quicken data file in the documents folder, but my issue now is when i open the laptop is shows the owners name and wants a password to access the laptop and i want to eliminate that step of logging onto the laptop, i appreciate the responce from the stranger in a strange land (heinlein classic)

Open Run>Windows key+ R.

Type in netplwiz & press Enter.

Right click Taskbar & click Properties.

doing well a little busy, i know this question should be in an other topic but hoping for a quick answer, the old laptop my wife had was 5 years old running win 7 and we never replaced the battery as she would use it all day long surfing, facebook etc and just running it off the charger. with the new laptop when she closes it should we put it into sleep mode, hibernate, then at the end of the day shutdown and charge, your input will be greatly appreciated

I don't have a laptop.
In general a cmos battery should last about 7 years.

In 7 years it's time to buy a new computer anyway, in my opinion.
I donate mine to charity.

As I don't use a laptop I can't really advise.
But,if it was mine, I would leave it plugged in as much as possible.
