Solved Didn't get a security code during update to 8.1

I just did the update from 8 to 8.1.
One of the screens asked how I wanted to receive the security code.
I took the default option of a phone call.
I didn't get the call, so I changed it to the email option, and checked the email on another computer.
I didn't get the email either, so I clicked on "I can't do this right now".
So how do I get the code, and how do I do it later?

Other than that it looks like the update went ok. I don't know why it came up with the system recover option turned off, and I had to change my setting so that I didn't have to enter a password at start up.

Your actions were correct. I usually opt for a call on my mobile, unless I have another OS setup with my email. Without the latter, of course, the Email could get lost in the ISP bin. But, I get the mobile call within seconds. Perhaps you should just have a quick check and ensure that you do have your Email and phone number registered correctly with your profile?

Thanks for the reply Dave.
Upon taking a closer look, I saw that the phone option sends a TEXT message. The phone number in my profile is my land line phone without a text option. Actually, I had text disabled on my cell phone also, because I only received spam messages.
The email address is correct. I also later found that I could have a code sent from my MS Account profile settings. I did that, and it worked, however, I also decided to check the box stating that I used the device often, and I don't want to use the code.
