Error in Capturing Pin

I get the following error: "An Error occurred in capturing pin; Try again later". How to Create, Change, or Remove a PIN:

As per this tutorial, my credential manager service is also automatic and running. Still, I am unable to generate Pin or picture Password.

Help is appreciated..

As a test to see if it may be something with your network settings, see if doing this may help:

  • Open the System window (Control Panel (icons view))
  • Click on Advanced system settings link on left.
  • Click on Computer Name tab in System Properties.
  • Click on Network ID button.
  • Select (dot) the This is a home computer; it's not part of a business network option, and click on Next.
  • Click on OK in System Properties, click on Finish, and restart the PC.
  • See if you may be able to create a PIN now.

Followed in ditto; Restarted; Still the same problem in capturing pin.

When I use picture password, gestures were captured and successful. But, in the end, I get enrollment failure.

I change to different users (even with admin rights); Still the same problem.

In that case, you might see if running a sfc /scannow command may help if a corrupted file may be at fault.

Otherwise you may need to refresh Windows 8. :(

upon running, windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. I am unable to open CBS.log file, even at elevated command prompt. My windows seemed to be working fine, except for these 2 log-in method errors. I am able to log in otherwise with legacy password without problem.. Let me run sfc / scannow complete of times to see if these runs fix the problem.
