Hello all,
The grump 'ole Marine, took the plunge and upgraded his Win 7 pc to Windows 8 Pro. Figured since they are retiring my stinking Technet, I might as well see what this Win 8 is about. Well I upgraded fine, however I have a few minor issues and questions I hope the community can help me with.
1. I can't seem to login with my Live account (Hotmail) can't do it via Office 2013, nor can I do it in the Store.
{Read that the solution was to create an new account, and use my hotmail address as the new user}
2. I created the new hotmail account, but lost all of my original user profile settings.
{Read that all I needed to do was copy the profile files over from userA to userB folder}
3. Well it copied the files over but broke Metro. I can't even Win+Q anymore. The standard windows Tiles are blank and I'm looking like Gunny Hartman, yelling at Gomer Pile.....
{My kids think it's funny watching a 43 year old Marine yell obscenities to a laptop, like it's a Recruit}
*One bright note, I was able to learn how to hard link the user directory and program files (x86) files to my d drive.
If anyone has the patience to help out this Old Marine, and save his laptop from being launched off the balcony, I would greatly and truly appreciate it.
