When I set up windows 8, I setup the Microsoft live account and placed a password in. I thought I was just setting up a live mail account but instead when I boot into windows I am asked for a password and don't want this. I tried changing the password to nothing and was not allowed to. I did manage to go to control userpasswords2 and tell windows to log me in automatically. What I want to do is change it to not having a password to sign into windows 8 at all. Is there anyway. Thanks for the help

Hello Bruce,

A Microsoft account must have a password since it is basically the password for the email address you used to sign up for the Microsoft account. There's no way around it for a Microsoft account.

However, you could switch the Microsoft account to be a local account instead.

Afterwards, remove the password for the local account.

It's strongly recommended to keep your administrator account password protected for obvious security reasons though.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn
