Has anyone experienced this:
After installing updates KB2769165 and KB2770917 that the user accounts will only display the Win 8 tiles?
The first account I noticed this on has these symptoms:
The second account (administrator account) is where I started researching this problem, went back to the Win 8 tiles, and when I went to switch to another account by clicking on my name, it locked up and now has the same problems as the first account.
Besides re-building the accounts, any thoughts on how else to proceed? Would a System Restore bring back a previous NTUSER.DAT file as that seems to be corrupt on both?
**NOTE** I ran Windows Update from my administrator account and it did not create a restore point for this update as I was accustomed to in Win 7. The other updates that were released on Tuesday do indicate a System Restore point.
FYI - Thankfully I have a 3rd account (administrator) that I have set to go to the "Win 7" desktop by using classicshell.sourceforge.net/

The first account I noticed this on has these symptoms:
- Live tiles don't display.
- Scrolling is inactive (no scroll bar at the bottom)
- Right clicking won't work
- Pressing the Windows key (or Windows D) to go to the "Win 7" desktop doesn't work.
- Pressing Control Alt Del to sign out allows me switch to another account - all other functions hang with no feedback (nothing displays)
