Can't login using Microsoft account
When logging in it says the password is incorrect. I know my password. I even went to account live.com/password/reset and changed my password ands still nothing. I can get onto every other device in my home with that account. Very frustrated. I upgraded about2 weeks ago and it was fine. 2 days ago it started
Thanks
Hello Smokey49er. Welcome to EightForums.
It seems you're not alone. I read more and more about this problem on the forums. I don't have a solution for you, but I'm thinking it's a password-storing file problem or an MS server (cloud) problem. Hang in there!
I'm on my phone and as soon as I get to my PC I'll look this up.
Again, welcome.

I tried the link and I've done that with no results. How do you run safe mode in windows 8
Ugh! It has to be enabled while in 8. No idea why MS configured it that way!
Do you have install media or did you upgrade via MS?

Upgrade? So no ISO install media? How do we get into a locked computer?! I mean I'm no hacker!
Hang in there.

Ya exactly. I've been searching all day on my end and haven't found anything helpful yet.
Not to pour salt on the wound, but you cannot even reinstall. I'm not a big fan of upgrades. Fresh intall says a lot.
Well, the only thing I can think of is to contact MS. What other options are there? Hopefully it's their server. Or they can unlock it from their end.

I have exactly the same solution!! I've been working on my laptop (Acer, windows 8.1) this morning, then I went out, now when I'm trying to access my laptop again but it give me the same message you've got, I've tried so many things, but it doesn't work! Please help, thanks
It's possible that there is no Internet connection at the login screen, so the system is unable to connect to Microsoft's server for validating your typed password. If the problem still occurs, I suggest you switching back to local account.
