Solved Windows 8 won't accept my password

2 days ago I upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 8, I didn't have the router network password handy so I skipped that. I set up a new Microsoft account because I didn't have one and I was able to use the laptop for a while. After shutting down for the night I was unable to get back in (it wouldn't accept my password). I reset the password and verified that the new password worked by signing into my MS account on another computer. I connected the laptop to my router with a cable but it still would not accept my MS password. Many hours later, I did manage to get in and thought the problem was resolved.:D

Today: still connected by cable, laptop won't accept the MS password.

If I ever get back in I'll set it up so that I don't need to go through an MS account but I need to get in first.

Any suggestions?

Just posted this and tried again and suddenly I can get in - very confusing

Check your keyboard setting. I had set Canadian keyboard, then when you type @, it becomes " (but I didn't know because screen show only dots), that's why Windows 8 didn't accept my password.
