How to Load SATA Drivers During Windows 8 Setup

This will show you how to load the SATA driver during the Windows 8 setup when setup cannot find your hard drive.

Here's How:

1) Copy your SATA drivers to a disk. (Floppy, CD, USB)
NOTE: Keep this disk in a safe place, as it will be need to use in the Recovery Console.
System Image Recovery - Restore Image on Computer in Windows 8

2) Click Load Drivers

3) Click Cancel

4) Click Browse.

5) Choose your Sata Controller. Click OK
NOTE:
For this example, I am using JMB363.

6) Click OK

7) Click Unhide

8) Choose your Sata Controller. Click Next

9) Continue with setup.

Nice tutorial!

I'm impressed because standard SATA drivers should be included on the Win8 DVD.
On all the VM's and the laptops I use SATA and the disk shows always on the list.
But yes, it depends what hardware you use.

If one day I'll see nothing on the list, I'll try not to freak out and take a look here.

i cant pass step 8 any driver that i choose isnt the correct one i have done the same thing on windows 7 plenty of times on this pc so i really dont know what's the problem

Are you doing STEP 7.

also are using the updated Windows 8 driver.

I have windows 7 and when trying to install Windows 8, it cannot find my laptop's Hard Drive.
According to your tutorial, I can make Win 8 recognize the SATA HDD. But how can I get my Windows 7 SATA drivers? Is there any topic on sevenforums or here that can shows how to do it?

From I can see most of them are BETA drivers for Windows 8.

Just one more question; since this is an msi .exe file, can it be installed while I am stuck in not recognizing my HDD window during installation of Win 8? Or I need to decompile (extract) it? If so, how can I extract .exe files?
