Drag Maximized Windows - Enable or Disable

Enable or Disable Drag from Maximized Windows in Windows 7 and Windows 8

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the ability to drag windows while they are maximized in only your user account in Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.




Here's How:

Note   Note
The .reg files below are for the registry key and value below.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

DragFromMaximize DWORD

0 = disable
1 = enable



1. Do step 2 or 3 below for what you would like to do.

2. To Disable Drag from Maximized Windows
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.​

3. To Enable Drag from Maximized Windows
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.​
Enable_Drag_from_Maximized_Windows.reg
download

4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.

5. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

6. If prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

7. Sign out and in, or restart the computer to apply.

8. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
