In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, you are able to organize the apps on your Start screen into groups of your making.

This tutorial will show you how to name or rename a group of apps on your Start screen to what you like in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

    OPTION ONE
Name Groups on your Start screen in Windows 8.1

    1. While on your Start screen, either right click on an empty area or swipe up from the bottom of the touch screen, and click/tap on Customize. (see screenshot below)

    2. Click/tap in the "Name group" field at the top of a group that you want to name or rename. (see screenshot below)

    3. Type in a name you want for the group of apps. Repeat step 2 and 3 for any other group you wish to name or rename. (see screenshot below)

    4. When finished, press Enter or click/tap on an empty area in Start. (see screenshot below)

    OPTION TWO
Name Groups on your Start screen in Windows 8

    1. Zoom out while on your Start screen.

    2. Right click on a group that you wanted to name or rename to select (check) it, then click on the Name group option at the bottom. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: If you select the wrong group by mistake, then you could either right click on the group again to unselect it, or right click on another group to select it instead.

    3. Type in a name or new name that you want for the selected group, and click on the Name button. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: If you wanted to remove a name of a group, then you can leave the name field blank instead.

    4. The group will now be named whatever (ex: Administrative Tools) you typed in step 3. (see screenshot below)

    5. When finished, you can zoom back to the default view of the Start screen.

    That's it,
    Shawn

Well, I was hoping to sort the tiles themselves out automatically. I just went ahead and sorted them out manually. It would be nice if there were a way to do it automatically though.
