OneDrive - Upload Camera Roll in Windows 8.1

How to Upload Photos and Videos from Your Camera Roll in Windows 8.1 to OneDrive

information   Information
SkyDrive is now called OneDrive instead.

OneDrive is Now Available Worldwide: Free Cloud Storage for Microsoft, iOS, and Android Devices | OneDrive Blog

OneDrive is a cloud-based storage service where you can view, browse, upload, and share the files you saved online to OneDrive.com. Store any file on OneDrive, and it's automatically available to access or share from any PC and device.

The collection of photos (images) and videos you have taken is called your camera roll. Photos and videos captured using the Camera app with your PC/device's built-in camera or webcam are saved to the Camera Roll folder in your Pictures library by default. If you like, you can also save any image or video file into your Camera Roll folder as well.

This tutorial will show you how to automatically upload videos and photos at either good or best quality from your Camera Roll folder in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 to the Camera Roll folder in OneDrive.

Note   Note
Your Camera Roll folder is located at:

C:\Users\(user-name)\Pictures\Camera Roll

and

C:\Users\(user-name)\OneDrive\Pictures\Camera Roll

15 GB more OneDrive Storage - just enable automatic Camera

This offer has been extended through the end of October 2104

Here's the original offer targeted at iPhone users.
https://blog.onedrive.com/you-can-now-get-30-gb-of-free-storage-with-onedrive/

An extra 15 GB of cloud storage will be added to the existing 15 GB on your Onedrive account if you enable Camera Roll to automatically send images to Onedrive.

That gives you 30 GB of free cloud storage!

You can turn off automatic uploading after the space is added to your account if you choose.

You might have to upload an image to get the extra 15 GB, it wasn't instantaneous, so I decided to place a copy of a picture to force the upload. When I checked after that, I had the extra storage. That could have just been a timing issue though.

Anyone with Onedrive installed should be able to get this extra storage if the enable automatic uploads in Camera Roll PC settings.
