(I created Dynamically Expanding VHD File as 25600 MB)

Now i will try again for 30 GB but i have no hope
Maybe you have any idea or trick

    Hello nonpasaran,

This works with the Windows 8 Consumer Preview as well.

How much free space does the HDD/partition that you have the VHD on has left?

    Hi again Shawn,

If you a foreigner there is a trouble in this tutorial: If you press Shift+F10 at step 2 you can't use your own language's keyboard. For example I use Turkish keyboard and writing "create vdisk file="D:\Windows8.vhd" maximum=30720" command is a torture

To avoid this situation you can chose your own language at step 2

and then you can press Shift+F10 at License Terms step instead of step 2.

This will give you a command prompt which is support your own language (Turkish, German, French etc.)

BTW Thanks for all your usefull tutorials and effort

    Hi Shawn,

It works with Win7 also (maybe with Vista too?)

I already used this tutorial (also many good other you posted) for a couple of installations. I find it one of the best tutorials out on the net. Installing an os without creating extra partitions is a great thing.

    Keep up the good work.

    Thanks

    Hello Hopachi,

It'll work with Windows 7 and Windows 8, but not with Vista since Vista doesn't support booting from a VHD.

    Hey Shawn,

Sorry I've never tested this before:
Is it possible to use a multipart VHD (maybe created in the GUI, doesn't matter) and to attach and boot from it?

Here is someone with a usb stick method:
    Booting with multipart vhd possible?
and I was wondering if multipart VHD's are bootable.

    Thanks

    Hopachi

    Hello Hopachi,

I know you can with a fixed or expandable VHD file, but I've never tried it with multipart VHDs. It's not going to hurt to give it a try though. It either will or not.
