Thank you, but this is Theog's tutorial.

I wish I knew as well. Perhaps we'll get it sorted in the next release.

    Shawn,
Ah ha, that answers a couple of questions for me. I didn't even noticed that Theog had written the tutorial.
Thanks and sorry for the confusion on my part.

You will notice that Shawn's snapshots always show a 100 mb reserved partition.
Karl, I have installed, uninstalled, re-installed and refreshed Win 8 (since 7989) and it's always worked with my dual boot setup.

Then, again, I use a boot disc to reformat and delete partitions. I never do it from within Windows.

    Maybe that's the difference?

Installed Win 8 per your tutorial.

    Win 7 in a 50 GB partition
Win 8 in a 50 GB partition with a VHD of 40 GB for the Win 8.

    Hi Shawn & Karl

Not being in to VM & VHD.

Would putting the VHD on the partition 2 make a difference?

Windows 8 VHD - Create at Boot to Dual Boot with
    Option Two.

    2. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of the Windows 8 VHD file that you created in step 5 or 6 in OPTION ONE above, then either delete or rename the VHD file.

    Hi Ray,

It shouldn't make any difference where the VHD is at. I had mine on a separate physical drive than Windows 7, and was able to delete it like in the tutorial.

And my first post here. Been in sevenforums for quite some time now

Just wanted to ask, if you delete the parition, will you still be using the Win8 GUI bootloader or will it revert back to Win7's bootloader?

    Hello Oreo,

It will revert back to the Windows 7 bootloader.

Thanks Shawn. I'll still be downloading the Consumer Preview. Hope I don't find the UX retarded as most people are describing it.

Off topic though, I like the layout of eightforums compared to sevenforums.

You're welcome. I agree. John has worked hard on making the site look great. You might also try some of the other skins at Seven Forums to see if you may like one better than the default.
