Looked through several of the Dual Boot/Clean Install tutorials here and at Seven Forums, probably missed it but, just want to clarify.

Installing a Dual boot on a GPT SSD, new - still unallocated, with W8 and Windows 7.
Normally you would install the older OS first, I've seen it mentioned that is can be done with W8 installed first, is this correct?

I have built the UEFI W8 flash drive.
UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows

After W8 is installed as per the tutorial UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 8 with.
With the UEFI GPT W8 installed, I would then re-build the flash drive with Windows 7, as per the tutorial above. Then directly install Windows 7 in the prepared GPT SSD partition.
Or would the 'normal' Windows 7 install media work in this case?

Will this end up with the new W8 Dual Boot selection interface?

    Hi Dave

    1) You can install Windows 7 x64 in dual boot first or second.

    2) When making the Windows 7 USB Pendrive, take note of Step 11.

    3) Install Windiws 7 in uEFI mode.

Thanks Ray, that's what I was looking for.

From your Disk Management snips, if you install Windows 7 first, you don't get the Recovery and MSR partitions?
Are they reqiured, as mentioned in the UEFI W8 install tutorial?

There is no partition called Recovery.

So the MSR is hidden and included when Windows 7 is installed, is that correct?
Then the 300MB Recovery partition is optional?
Looks like it may be a OEM option.

    Understanding Disk Partitions
    Recovery Tools

To help end users recover from critical system failures, you can include system-recovery tools on your system. In the case of a system failure, you can configure the computer to fail over to the recovery tools, to help end users repair or reinstall Windows.

The requirements for a recovery partition will vary, depending on the recovery environment you intend to implement.
Found the answer to the question above.
    Windows and GPT FAQ
For UEFI systems, the boot drive must contain an ESP, an MSR, and at least one basic data partition that contains the operating system. Only one ESP should exist on a system even if multiple operating systems are installed on that system.

This is a MS word doc for Windows 8.
    Installing Windows on UEFI Systems

OEM's have a Partition 5 for Recovery Image.

    rem === 5. Recovery image partition ================
    create partition primary
    format quick fs=ntfs label="Recovery image"
    assign letter="R"
