    cannot keep previous settings


    hey i downloaded the win 8 developer preview but while installing it does not show the option to keep previous settings. it just displays the option for " keep nothing".
    pls help.

    Hello c4cyro, and welcome to Eight Forums.

    Are you trying to upgrade to the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 Developer Preview?

    Since you have 64-bit Windows 7 installed, you would need to be upgrading to the 64-bit Windows 8 Developer Preview to have the options like in step 5.

    Personally, since Windows 8 is still only a developer preview, I would recommend that you dual boot with it instead if you have the HDD space to do so. Windows 8 is really not recommended to be your primary OS since it is only a developer preview.

    Yes, but it will only retain you accounts and files from XP.
