Hello Gregs, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It sounds like something had interrupted the restart of explorer.

You could either restart the PC.

OR

Press the CTRL+Shift+ESC keys to open Task Manager, click on File (menu bar), click on Run new task, type explorer, and click/tap on OK.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

I've used the disable.bat, vut now I'd like to re-enable the upper left apps option. The enable.bat doesn't seem to reverse it though.

Hello. Thanks for updating the file, unfortunately it still doesn't work. One possibility is that I had to delete my Synaptic touchpad drivers because I couldn't disable the right side swipe for charms.

Do you have a modern app open to test the TL hot corner for Switcher from your desktop using the pointer?

This wouldn't affect edge swipes on a touchpad.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean.
I'm testing the upper left corner in my desktop and in the Metro UI.

Switcher is to switch between opened modern apps. You would need to have an app open before switcher would open from the TL hot corner.

As a test, open your Start screen, open say the Store, then test Switcher.

O ok. I usually have Firefox open, would that be considered a modern app?

Anyway I tested with Firefox and Store open - no luck. It is still grayed out in the mouse and touchpad settings
