Screenshot Shortcut - Create in Windows 8

How to Create a "Screenshot" Capture Shortcut in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
This tutorial will show you how to download and use a "Screenshot" shortcut that will capture a screenshot of the desktop on all displays and save it as a .png file in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

This new Screenshot feature included in Windows 8 saves the capture screenshot from this shortcut into your C:\Users\(user-name)\Pictures\Screenshots folder named as Screenshot (#).png with # indicating the screenshot index counter. Each screenshot you take increases the counter # by one.

Note   Note
This shortcut will be the same as pressing the :winkey: + Print Screen (PrtScn) keys.

Here's How:

1. Click/tap on the Download button below to download the .zip file below.

2. Save the .zip file to your desktop.

3. Open the .zip file, and extract (drag and drop) the Screenshot.exe file to your desktop.
NOTE: This is a standalone .exe file that has a digital certificate and does not install or add anything to your computer.

4. You can now move the Screenshot.exe file to where you like to use it at, then Pin to Taskbar on desktop, Pin to Start screen, add to Quick Launch, or create a shortcut from the Screenshot.exe file.

Tip   Tip
If you create a shortcut from the downloaded Screenshot.exe file, then you could also assign a keyboard shortcut to the created shortcut.

That's it,
Shawn
