Well, as the title suggests, I'm having an issue with Disk Cleanup with a new SSD I recently purchased. In all my years with HDDs I never had this problem. I've been running Windows 8.1 with an HDD for over a year now with no such problem so this is quite new & odd to me. The Windows Update Cleanup feature in Disk Cleanup always worked for me with a HDD. If there was ever a time it didn't work, I certainly can't recall. I'm assuming it's something in the way SSDs are built vs. standard HDDs. Though again, this is my first SSD so, I rally don't have others to compare it to.
So, essentially when Disk Cleanup gets to the Windows Update Cleanup part, it hangs:
I tried:
sfc /scannow & I tried:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
But, when I get to to Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth it hangs:
It's been a while since I had to do any major PC repairs & this is my first personal run in with this particular issue & maybe I'm just out of touch. Maybe missed a few steps? Can somebody help me out? This is the SSD that I have if that helps Kingston High Performance SATA Solid-State Drives (SSD) for Laptops, Desktops and Servers in 60GB, 120GB, 180GB, 240GB and 480GB capacities.
