Touch screen as mouse...

...I've seen a lot of threads about not fully touch compliant / win8 cert hardware as to why a touch screen behaves as a simple mouse pointer.

I want to do the opposite.

Is there any way to force my touchscreen monitor to act as a simple mouse pointer? We have older software that is not fully compliant with win8 yet, and (of course) the one feature that isnt supported is the one the doctor needs. It works fine on the machines that have a mouse and keyboard and no touchscreen, just not on the three that have a touchscreen for the doctor. I've looked around found settings for people going the other way, but I dont seem to have most of those options.

...And if I'm in the wrong forum. Lemme know / Mods help(?)

Windows8 pro (Upgrade from XP keeping no files)

tldr: I want to use my touchscreen as a basic mouse (no gestures)

Hmmmm.....

Interesting. Are you saying you basically want to disable the touch aspect or just convert it to a single touch point monitor?

Yup. That sums it up a lot better than I could.

It 'works' right now. We can touch buttons and click sliders. However, when we try and pan the image around to see other parts when zoomed in, no dice. I can kinda get it to work sometimes if I touch and hold until the very instant it switches to right click, then release and retouch very quickly. It lets me pan around right after zooming in a level. (maybe I dont under stand the gesture system correctly) Also, the touch monitor is older and only supports two point touch.
