Wacom Bamboo pen tablet help.

Hey all! I got a Wacom Bamboo Capture for Christmas and I bought Windows 8 about a week later. The touch keyboard option always comes up when I plug my tablet in and I thought it'd be fun to play with it. The normal keyboard works fine, but the handwriting won't work. It shows as I'm writing, but it won't pop up with anything. It doesn't even look the same as all of the videos and pics I looked at. I know my laptop isn't a touch screen so if that's the reason it doesn't work that makes sense, but does anyone know if there's something else going on that would make it not work? Any info / advice is welcome! Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi CRSN21, welcome to Eightforums!

I see you've enterd the wonderful world of Wacom. Great! I myself have been using a Wacom Bamboo Pen&Touch for years now. My poor mouse is getting dusty behind the monitor since. :)

Back to your problems with it. The first thing you ought to check is weather or not you've installed the latest drivers. You can download them here: Drivers | Wacom Americas
It might be a good idea to do a reinstallation per se.

Now, you can use the Wacom to handwrite messages. It works fine in MS Word for instance. But you can also use it in Excel etc.

It is not quite clear to me what it is you exactly want to do. Do you want to handwrite a message in MS Word and let it be a hand written message? Or do you want to handwrite a message and have the PC convert it to 'typt letter'.
In the latter case it is possible for some programs. Than you must write in the special 'pop-up-box' that pop's up (I can't find the settings right now, I know I have disabled it here ;), but the should be available after a fresh driver installation).

Hope you can make a start with my post. If not, or if there are other questions ==> just come back here!

Thanks or your reply!

You have it correct, I want to hand write in the pop up keyboard and then it converts it to the "type" text. I really don't need it at all, but I want to play with it lol. I'm currently downloading the newest drivers so I'll follow up when that's all said and done and let you know what happens!
