Samsung Galaxy S3 with Windows 8

    So yeah, hey guys.

I've a little problem: When i try to connect my samsung galaxy s3 to my pc via USB, it simply works the first time. But when i remove my s3 for like one hour (or more...) and i try to connect it again, Windows 8 wont recognize my s3...
but then, when i restart my pc and i try to connect it again, it works...
i dont know what to do...i hope here is some1 with a solution :/

    cheers

I'll give this a try for you and let you know how it works for me.

When you say it doesn't recognize it, does it NOT show up at all? I've had a problem on occasion with 7 where it sees my phone, but it doesn't show anything when I attempt to connect via Explorer. A reboot of Windows 7 and I can see my music, pictures, etc.

I have the same problem with my S3 on Windows 8. Only solution is to restart your computer. I tried troubleshooting the hardware and nothing works. I have tried Kies, newest USB drivers, etc. Nothing seems to work. Samsung really needs to work with Microsoft to fix this. Never had this problem with Windows 7.

This may not be a fix as much as a work around. If the PC's and laptops in question have the bluetooth capability and it's enabled, that might be a viable option. If not there are those little bluetooth adapters that plug into a usb port for $20 or less.

I'm not having any connectivity problems with Windows 8 and my I9300.

You can try this driver, which is what I use (both x86 & x64). Just uninstall the previous driver from add/remove programs.

How i fixed the problem: Use PTP instead of MTP in USB-PC-Connection Options.
