I was an administrator but I edited the permissions on my C drive so I was the only user.

I already had full administrator rights but was unable to uninstall some software, so was just trying everything.

Rebooted pc, everything works fine but certain features I can't seem to access now.

My iphone doesn't appear in My Computer any more. There are other issues aswell.

basically i want to re-take over all administrator rights.. but im already an admin.. not sure what has happened... but now cant see iphone.. seems to be other admin type problems.. also i have set never to notify for uac, and it still prompts creating directories and moving files in and out of program files etc

Hello Krohm,

You could enable the built-in Administrator account, and sign in to it to use instead for full control. After you sign in to it, you could just copy what you wanted (ex: shortcuts) from the old account to this one. :)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

not really,.. my account has 50,000 customisations,... and it is an administrator already, so kinda wanting to just have complete full control as the actual permissions suggest...

I'd follow what Brink is saying, based on the position you've already put yourself in. It's excellent advice based on your circumstances. Complete control is accomplished from the true Administrator account.

Secpol.msc | Local Policies | Security Options | User Account Control: Run all Administrators in Admin approval mode

set to disabled might otherwise help you with your situation and also to understand how Windows works.

Run all Administrators in Admin approval mode was already enabled....

...which is why I wrote "set to disabled might otherwise help you"

Anyhow, things are well now I hope?

Sorry, I can't say about any of that as I don't use or have any experience with i products, so I don't know how they work or are intended to work.

All I know about Apple is the Bonjour service that they made to secretly try to destroy Windows by breaking networking upon its install, heh. Oh and Adobe helped(s) them distribute it too.

do i have to format here in order to see my iphone on my computer,?

why wont it possibly allow it to be seen in explorer anymore after ive set my own account as the only administrator...,

this problem has happened before with other os's, and is able to be fixed somehow, wondering if someone can assist,...

basically wanting to create complete admin one account only on my computer my name, full access with everything, nothing else, that shouldnt be a difficult request,... thats what i've done and now i've lost privilidges and access...

Krohm,

Have you already tried either step 1 OPTION ONE or step 5 OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to elevate your current administrator account to be the same as the built-in Adminsitrator account?

User Account Control (UAC) - Elevate Privilege Level - Vista Forums

If that doesn't work for you, then the only option that I know of is to use the built-in Administrator account to see how it works in it as a test.

didn't get chance to try. but my windows crashed for some reason on startup and would only let me repair it. I ended up formatting and reinstalling and now everything is working quite nicely

so the problem didn't really get solved ? that is to say loss of access to the iphone after permission changes. the thread title should problem reflect that if brink you could rename it...

I'm happy to hear that everything is working now. To bad it took a clean install to do so.
