Solved MBAM right click broken?

I just reinstalled the latest MBAM free since that was the suggestion on the MBAM forum. However that made no difference.

What happens is, I try to scan a single file using the right click menu. Even if I have previously opened MBAM, updated the database, then closed it, when I use it through right click on a single file, it wants to do a Threat Scan.

Now I have no way to quickie check out a download. Anyone run into this?

That threat scan is, as you call it, a quickie check. It only scans that specific folder or file.

That's how it used to work until I did the last update. In fact I remember there was some glitch during the update. I guess I'll have to try the removal tool and reinstall.

What happens now, it does a threat scan oblivious to the filename passed by the right click.
I liked it better the old way. It checked the registry and memory then the file. Nice and quick. Since the overhaul I don't like it so much. It tries to do what it wants, taking the user out of the decision making.

Edit: Removing with the clean tool and reinstall restored it. I stiff prefer the old style UI though.

I think I know what happened. I updated Easy 7-zip and left a whole bunch of context menu items checked. That likely messed things up. So in fairness, the context menu likely would work normally otherwise. But the new UI and scan type change still sucks.

It seems this was a bug in MBAM for one version update if the program was updated rather than downloading the new version and installing over(at least I saw a post other than mine with the same scenario.) It seems to be back to normal now.
