Hi there

There's not much your COMPUTER can do against this but as it is still a security issue I've posted it here.

Ensure if you DO use cloud service you only load up stuff that if it was hacked or copied then it wouldn't matter to you -- Don't load anything private / personal etc etc.

This will happen MORE and MORE as the use of these services grow. Even the FBI are involved now !!!

This topic really is a matter to be concerned very much about by anyone who is posting private & family files, folders, photos or even private business documents and files..
Glad this is again brought to the notice of the public to create awareness about What happens in the Cloud!

Cheers

It is not like people always do it on purpose. There was actually a movie about it just a month ago.

Sex Tape Official UK Trailer (2014) (It is UK trailer, not US, so no porno/sex involved in the trailer)

Spoiler: At the end, they will tell them, that if they would remove it from PC, it would get removed from all devices.
Nobody understands the cloud, that is actually the greatest quote from the movie, Apple just makes it easier to share.

I don't see the problem. All sensitive files I upload to the cloud are encrypted with an AES-256 bit encryption (encfs) and the password is 11 digits long. I bet no hobby hacker is going to crack that. And even professionals from secrect services would have to struggle to read those files (if they manage at all). So go on, steal my data. What's more, there is nothing on the cloud that could actually ruin my life.

Well that's what you get for keeping naked pictures of yourself in the cloud, BTW Jennifer Lawrence has a pretty nice set of jugs I must say :p

Seriously, cloud services are going to be hacked more and more as they become more popular, doesn't matter if your stuff is encrypted or not if the hacker is just intent on destruction, if the cloud is your only backup source ...... your screwed.

I use the cloud as a temporary type of storage only, whatever I upload to it I can afford to lose, will not embarrass myself or my family and will not destroy my finances. Removable, external drives that are encrypted at 128 bit with a 56 character passphrase in order to gain access, the drives are only connected when I need them otherwise they are locked away in a fire / weather proof combination box, that's how I keep my important stuff private.

It just seems quite silly that she is looking to sue those who stole / uploaded and those that are viewing her naked pics when it was she that was stupid enough to put them in such an insecure space. IMO, she deserves what she got. Actually .... judging by the pics, she is a kinky little ho.

Sorry but everybody who does keep unencrypted, sensitive files in the cloud does not deserve it any better. It's not like it has not been discussed for years now that there is a risk in keeping sensitive files in the cloud. Like Albert Einstein said: There are two things that are infinite, the universe and the stupidity of mankind. But with the universe I'm not completely sure yet. ;)

Many don't know about encryption & its application, so it'll be more appropriate to consider it ignorance rather than stupidity :)
