"Windows has detected hacking activities..."?

I got off my computer an hour or so ago to take a quick nap, because I wasn't feeling well. When I returned there was a message window on my desktop (http://oi61.tinypic.com/29vio3.jpg) that said "Windows has detected hacking activities on your Computer Please enter the code below to continue"

When I began to start the process (I clicked show code) I stopped, because I felt like something fishy was going on. The message window is currently still up and stays on top of every window that I open. I don't see any "x" button, nor does it show up at the bottom in my task bar. What should I do!? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

"Fishy" does not even start to describe stuff like that. Don't even consider unsolicited help repairs etc. Might sound a bit paranoid but flush history and cookies and run AV scan + Mbam asap.

Thanks for the reply guys! I'm still having trouble with this same problem though. I rebooted my computer and ran a scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and AVG. They both picked up multiple threats to my computer (mostly malware and a virus). So I checked to remove all the infections and I had to restart my computer once more to complete the process. Everything was fine until a couple of hours later when the same window I mention before popped up.

I have not downloaded anything since I last restarted the computer, so I'm just confused. I'm assuming that both Malwarebytes nor AVG were able to pick this up on their radar. The only thing different about the pop up this time was that there was no text-instructions nor was the Microsoft logo click-able. I forgot to include this in my last post, but the logo that was visible on the past pop up was click-able and it led me to the microsoft website.

Is there anything else I can try?

EDIT: I opened up my task manager and it showed me the processes that are active. Here's what I see:

Aha! I ended the MicLocker program that you can see in the above screenshot in my task manager and the "detected hacking devices..." window went away. So I am guessing I have found what is causing the window to appear, but I was stupid as to not see where the file was located at on my computer. What should I do?

Just to be sure....there are other options to try to clean the PC....

Do you have access to another PC?

The following are links to bootable AV scanners....

try downloading them on another 'clean' PC and make bootable media using them (CD/DVD/USB).

Change the boot order in your BIOS so it boots from the media you made first and then boot it from each to do a virus/trojan scan without windows loading.

If my hunch is right it will show up again. In the mean time search for file with that name, registry and startup programs.

I was working on a PC this weekend where someone kept getting the pop up message "Low on disk space, click here to fix." Fortunately, they didn't click it. The disk space they had was more then adequate (357 GB free space). Assorted scanners found about 75 infections.

Revo Uninstaller (free version) should be able to remove the program, files & registry entries. This will get rid of the program, but not necessarily the infections on the system. Read the tutorial on Revo & make backups as it is easy to hose your system if used improperly.

Suggest you try running AdwCleaner & TDSSKiller (to verify no rootkits are present).

When running TDSSKiller, click on the "change parameters" text, check the box marked "Detect TDLFS file system" & do a scan.

Another option: Boot into safe mode & allow Malwarebytes to scan your system.

Unfortunately, I don't have another computer to use at the moment. Presently, my other home desktop is at another house.

I've just restarted my computer after an AdwCleanr scan and clean. If it pops up again, I should be able to find it in task manager and find out which folder it resides in.

I downloaded and ran AdwCleaner and TDSSKiller. AdwCleaner picked up a few things and cleaned them up. TDSSKiller did not pick up anything after I ran AdwCleaner and rebooted the computer.


Now I'm just waiting to see if the window pops up again.

Have you tried to unplug the internet if that box is calling to a server on the internet it's bound to handsome frog and complain that there is no internet connection. and if so it just might rear its ugly head and show you exactly what its true name is. Another thing if it keeps coming up run this little nifty tool. Dr.Web CureIt! ? ??????? ??????? if it dose not find it i would say do a reinstall of windows.
