if i dual boot with windows 7 and 8 do i need to run a antivirus on window 8 as ive got kaspersky internet security 12 on my windows 7

Of course.
I'm not sure about the compatibility of Kaspersky, though.
Not everything will be compatible right away.
Microsoft Security Essentials seems to work just fine.
